    Community and Court Interpreters of Ohio (CCIO) invites you to join us for a dynamic medical interpreter's "Ethics Workout" presented by Emily Lanier and John Shaklee.

    Emily Lanier, a nationally-certified healthcare interpreter, is a full-time staff Spanish interpreter at Akron Children’s Hospital in Ohio. Emily has a B.A. in Latin American Studies and Spanish from Washington University in St. Louis. She also has both an M.A. in English (Teaching English as a Second Language) and an M.A. in Translation at Kent State University in Translation (Spanish). She has been interpreting, translating, and teaching Spanish and ESL since 2003.   

    John P. Shaklee, MA in Translation, is a Certified Court Interpreter and Certified Healthcare Interpreter in Ohio. He has presented numerous workshops including Protocol, Preparation and Presentation; Legal Procedure and Terminology for Court Interpreters; and Slang and Phraseology. He is a member of the American Translators Association (ATA), National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), Northeast Ohio Translators Association (NOTA), and CCIO.
